Paladin is a staffing agency specializing in Marketing, Creative, and Communications staffing. www.paladinstaff.com One of our clients, a recruitment marketing firm in Austin Texas, is looking for a Sr. Account Manager. This is a direct-hire position, $65,000-$90,000/year, and minimum of 7 years of experience required. 

 

Responsibilities

1.       Orchestrate the building of a strong client relationship which results in client retention.

·         Prepare, maintain and implement the Client Service Plan (CSP) with respect to assigned clients.

·         Actively monitor and anticipate client needs and results.  Contribute proactively on an on-going basis to the client’s human capital programs by developing, recommending and providing solutions that address client needs.

·         Partner with Market Office staff and other company functional areas to ensure that appropriate resources are brought into play to meet client needs.

·         Proactively engage with clients to ensure that clients perceive high quality/value from our company and that we are meeting client needs.  Proactively communicate with clients and manage client expectations.

·         Follow and understand developments that can affect client’s human capital programs.  Stay ahead of the client.

·         Manage or contribute to company efforts to deal with problems—from executives down—relating to our services or relationships.

2.       Grow business with existing clients through selling of additional or new services.

·         Within a framework / template, define and follow a plan to gain and maintain a full understanding of client organizations, their human capital needs, the decision-makers, and how to maintain access.

·         Proactively and regularly diagnose client needs and develop workforce communications plans targeted at those needs.

·         Determine when and how to engage other resources to address specific needs and issues.

·         Find ways to increase business with existing clients through expanded use of existing services or new services.

·         Partner with other company functional areas to ensure the right resources are engaged to successfully offer new services to existing clients.

 

3.       Partner with clients and company functional staff to address specific client needs for workforce communications programs and materials.

·         Diagnose unique client issues / needs and develop project briefs and program plans for addressing those needs.

·         Serve as project manager with respect to the planning and execution of workforce communications programs and collateral projects.


 

4.       Partner with the Business Development lead and the assigned Account Executive to transition new clients to Client Services

·         Participate in the selling process to build prospect confidence and prepare for a smooth transition.

·         Define and evaluate unique client issues / needs and future opportunities to grow business.

·         Partner with Business Development and Client Services in the execution of initial client orders to ensure high quality service delivery and a flawless transition.

·         Work with the new client to shift future communications and the service relationship to Client Services.

 

5.       Build a strong expertise in human capital communications concepts and practices and become a valuable resource for the client on human capital challenges.

6.       Document activities, findings and other pertinent information in accordance with company standards.

7.       Develop and maintain good relations with media representatives.

 

Selection Criteria

·         At least 7 years of work experience in a professional role; at least 5 years’ experience in a major communications services firm.  Solid record of account management responsibility involving large healthcare clients in a consultative marketing or advertising services role.   This person will have a good sense of marketing and an instinct for promotional activities suitable for major healthcare organizations.

·         High achievement orientation.  Measures success through sales or other quantitative results.  Strong predisposition toward having goals and being accountable for delivering results.  Committed to producing concrete results, not just keeping the process moving forward.  Hard-working by nature.

·         Independent.  Self-confident. High initiative/self starter.  Personal enthusiasm for enterprise, ie, joy in building, not just maintaining. 

·         Sociable, outgoing, and engaging.  Likes to influence others.

·         Has a “helping” orientation.  Likes to make a contribution and help others succeed.

·         Project management skills.  Able to manage multiple priorities and many details, to handle deadline pressure, to drive the project to completion smoothly, to keep people informed, to document appropriately.

·         Time management skills.  Sensitive to the importance of time management.  Knows when to be thorough, cut corners.  Is comfortable tracking/reporting time, budgeting time allotments, sticking with time constraints as appropriate. 

·         High versatility.  Able to work in a continually changing environment and to interact with all levels of management on the client side. 

·         Able to collaborate and work effectively with other functions within our company to meet client needs.

·         Active eager learner.  Quickly learns from experience and translates learning into new behavior and approaches.  Wants to be known as someone who is very knowledgeable.  Understands the importance of continuous learning.

·         Good judgment.  Knows when and how to call on other resources.

·         Articulate communicator.  Presents well in person, on the phone, in meetings, in documents.

·         Able and willing to travel, primarily to Texas markets.  Available for some overnight travel for clients, conferences and training.

·         Good listening skills.
