Description: The Information Technology Department delivers superior customer experiences through the development and support of front and back office systems while focusing on IT's four core values: Partnership, Excellence, Innovation and Efficiency.

The IT Security Team is responsible for the implementation of controls and delivery of services ensuring appropriate logical and physical protection of information and other assets enterprise wide.

The Security Event Analyst is responsible for the initial implementation, daily oversight, and analysis and interpretation of security logging and event correlation systems that perform network security management, log collection, event correlation, and incident analysis. This includes the evaluation, testing and secured design integration of system architectures, platforms and applications, and script development for integration of log events from security systems and applications.

The analyst will evaluate log input and provide interpretation of the results, and will work with various factions of the bank including IT and Risk organizations to mitigate and minimize threats. The analyst will also oversee authorization and access control systems used to administer access privileges for internal IT customers.

This role will work with the IT Security teams to ensure that the physical and logical stability, reliability, confidentiality, and integrity of ING Direct's systems is in accordance with ING Direct policies, procedures and guidelines.

Essential Functions:
*Oversee the installation and implementation of Network Security Management, Log Collection, and Event Correlation systems
*Oversee the implementation of UNIX-based authorization and Password Vaulting systems
*Communicate planning and development status and provide documentation to management
*Ensure that the environment is kept current with service and software update releases
*Participate in business continuity planning, testing, and implementation for responsible systems
*Provide efficient, high quality technical support services to ensure timely response to queries, resolution of problems, and reporting/escalation of issues related to logging and event correlation systems
*Ensure Security systems exceed service level targets through the use of reliable products, services, network and system monitoring, penetration and security testing, and sound practices
*Monitor security reports, evaluate and interpret results, and address security threats and violations
*Determine the need and assist with implementation for root or privileged access and oversee permanent root access rules as necessary
*The aspects of the technical infrastructure for this position include event correlation systems and limited specialty servers providing access control and vaulting technologies Qualifications: *5 years experience in Computer Systems Administration and 2 years supporting UNIX systems

Education and/or Certifications:
*University degree in Computer Science or Related Field Experience

Technical skills and abilities:
*Excellent communication skills required
*Ability to work in a fast paced, demanding and rapidly changing environment
*Thorough knowledge of Computer Security and Unix/Linux based systems including shell scripting, utilities and commands, debugging and file redirection
*Additional knowledge of SQL or Oracle database systems, remote access systems, Office Automation, and general hardware, computer and telecommunication systems
*Exceptional problem solving abilities
