Description:

Design security solutions enabling the business to rapidly innovate while improving the trust between eBay and its Community.
Collaborate with internal and external technical leaders to develop innovative security applications and infrastructure that meet market needs with respect to availability, functionality, performance, scalability, security, and reliability.
Develop strategic infrastructure architecture and technology roadmap that furthers senior management’s vision and strategy.
Partner with Corporate and Global Security, Trust and Safety, and other eBay entities for corporate architecture solutions.
Manage, design, or provide consulting support to IT technology projects. 
Perform and direct risk assessments, systems reviews, and define risk mitigation.   
Develop and present executive documents on technology subjects and strategies.
ADD?  Consult with other groups within the company and direct their product development towards our over all security policies and goals. 
Translate technical concepts into cost and risks to the business, and adjust technology strategy and tactical efforts to meet corporate objectives.
Define business needs and direct technology solutions for new systems and applications.
Lead new technology integration via requirements analysis, proof of concept, design, and implementation. Make recommendations and implementations for new tools and technologies. 
Design and interpret system metrics and scorecard to measure effectiveness of security technology tools.

Participate on business continuity projects.
Quickly learn and teach others new technologies.

Qualifications:

Experience with Infrastructure security components: Network level and application level firewalls.
Current knowledge and experience of industry trends and technology advancements.
Experience implementing large scale, high availability, fault tolerant web infrastructure in a dynamic environment.
Ability to clearly articulate business and technical issues with senior management, peers, and outside parties (e.g. vendors, partners).
Very strong leadership and ability to command respect at all levels of the organization.
Experienced in developing and presenting strategic technology solutions that drive the business.
Ability to demonstrate expertise and leadership in problem solving expertise.
Solid understanding of software data flow, and how it applies to the physical layer.
Ability to quickly learn existing complex systems infrastructure.
Demonstrable analytical and problem solving skills, particularly as it relates to systems design.
Facilitation and team-building skills at all levels.  Ability to influence, train, mentor and leverage the skills of others, including business partners and technical team.
Excellent communication and relationship skills. 
Ability to thrive in a high-pressured environment. 
Ability to multi-task multiple projects at once and drive to results independently.


Experience with Intrustion Detection Systems including host based products.
Experience with Java, C++, C#, and Perl security framework software as well as integration with Hardware based key management.
Experience with Ajax and Flash (Web 2.0) security controls and detection techniques.
Experience with anti-malware software and or hardware solutions.
Experience with Unix, Linux Flavors and Windows OS platforms.
Experience with MySQL, Oracle, and MS SQLServer would be beneficial.
Experience with LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySql, PHP) would be beneficial.
BSCS BSEE or technical degree required. 8+ years of related experience required.
