DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: #6483
Responsible for data system security planning, developing, and implementing security policies across multiple platforms. Ensures successful implementation and maintenance of the defined standards. Ensures compliance of IT Security Policies. Provides support in data security management and security architect standards and documentations. Manages security devices such as firewall, IPS, VPN, etc. Provides technical support and consultation for enhancement of and change to network security configuration. Provides fault resolution and escalation. Defines processes to manage network security. Studies the proliferation of malware; prevent network intrusions. Other duties as assigned or required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or a related discipline, along with six or more years of progressive professional systems administration experience in an Information Technology department primarily in network/systems administration. Equivalent professional experience in a corporate Information Technology may be substitute in lieu of education. Demonstrate a complete understanding of Data Security Administration principles, concepts, practices, and standards including but not limited to, TCP/IP and related Internet protocols, intrusion detection and protection, network flow analysis, firewalls, network access control, network devices, malware/forensic analysis and IT security policy development. In addition having a secret DoD security clearance or the ability to obtain one. Certifications of interest: CCSP, SANS Certification (GIAC, GCIH, etc.), Security +, OS certifications (Unix, Linux, Microsoft) network/security certifications (Cisco, Checkpoint, etc). Ability to maintain strict confidentiality when applicable.
OTHER PARTICULARS:
Ability to obtain a security clearance. Limited travel.
