A global supplier of systems and services to the Aerospace, Defense and Homeland Security markets is looking to hire a Security Administrator.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Security Administrator: Maintains Operational Security systems; i.e., ensures that systems operate per agreed-upon SLAs (Service Level Agreements), including Configuration Management. Researches application risks. Researches technologies. Identifies policy alternatives. Educates on risks observed. Drafts Security Group procedures. Monitors Security activities for IT Security Policy compliance. Escalates violation of IT policies. Consults with site IT staff to develop mitigation steps. Assists in developing IT Security Audit Program. Additionally: Completes audits. Generates compliance reports. Notes policy non-compliance. Monitors market on new technologies and selects specific technologies for evaluation. Develops test procedures for evaluating new technologies. Recommends best design approach. Implements new security solutions. Ensures proper operation of new technologies. Consults with other IT organizations to aid the implementation of Security Infrastructure in their local IT services organization. Supports IT Service organizations globally on Security issues. Researches technologies to satisfy security issues identified. Verifies security issues resolved satisfactorily. Researches Patches. Defines patch priorities. Installs patches to maintain security devices. Define access levels permissions and authorize approval processes. Implements approved access changes. Participates in Incident Response groups. Monitors the following for indications of security and security system anomalies: System logs Event logs Event correlation devices Responds to anomalies. Alerts senior staff members/management if significant anomalies occur. Reviews IT policies. Evaluates impact on existing processes and procedures. Recommends changes to improve overall security model. Develops IT Controls Audit Process. Identifies guidelines to determine risk impacts of IT controls deficiencies. Reviews associated risks with local IT administrators.

Requirements:

Required Skills for this Security Administrator position include the following: Strong knowledge of IT technologies 3-5 years of IT technology experience 3-5 years of Unix System Administration (Sun Solaris preferred) Three (3) years of Windows Administration (Strong Windows Security concepts)
