Department Summary
Flint Hills Resources produces paving and roofing asphalt as its refinery in Rosemount, Minnesota. From the Pine Bend Refinery, wholesale asphalt can be purchased and delivered via truck, rail and barge. In addition, asphalt, polymer-modified asphalt, asphalt emulsions, polymer-modified emulsions and cut-backs can be purchased throughout the upper Midwest via the company’s extensive network of terminals.
Position Summary
• Perform laboratory testing in an efficient, accurate, and precise manner to determine if products meet Agency and internal specifications;
• Take the necessary corrective actions when a product is outside of specifications;
• Use the proper techniques and procedures to perform sample analyses;
• Adhere to AASHTO, ASTM and internal procedures and protocol in determining acceptable results;
• Comply with Product Certification Compliance (testing & specification matrixes, etc.);
• Follow all PCC expectations and requirements;
• Lab appearance and housekeeping;
• Ability to safely lift 50 lbs;
• Ability to stand 75 % of the time;
• Willing to work overtime and shift work when necessary.
