Sam¿s Accounting Manager
*Directly supervising 2-3 accounting management associates who are primarily responsible for financial statement analysis, preparing journal entries, reconciling various accounts and reporting on account activity.  Position will be responsible for challenging the current processes of these direct reports and establishing objectives to gain performance efficiencies.  Position is also responsible for participating in the professional development of these associates.
*Challenge financial controls and processes within Sam¿s Club to determine whether the controls are sufficient and appropriately address the identified risks.  If deficiencies exist, determine the controls and processes that need to be implemented to remediate the deficiency.
*Preparation and/or approval of JEWEL entries to ensure accuracy of the financial statements.
*Tracking and analysis of financial statements during the monthly close.
*Monitoring activity within certain Sam¿s Club accounts.
*Review monthly account reconciliations, performing follow-up as necessary.
*Development and implementation of additional monthly financial statements analysis.
*Participate in various corporate projects, such as PROFIT, etc.

REQUIRED OR QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION:
1. Bachelor¿s degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience.
2. Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify, analyze and solve problems.
3. Strong PC skills, including MS Office Suite.
4. Strong communication, teaming and people skills.
ADDITIONAL PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
1. CPA or pursuing CPA preferred.
2. Knowledge of Hyperion Essbase and other Finance systems.
3. Strong people management skills.
