Territory Sales Representative/Consultant - Account Management and Business Development
R.W. Smith & Co. is looking to hire a territory sales consultant in your area to grow our business and to service our existing customer base. We are a full-service, turnkey supplier of foodservice equipment, supplies and design, working with the finest venues in the hospitality industry.

Upon Joining R.W. Smith as a Sales Consultant, you would have the opportunity to:
Build your own book of accounts with no territory boundaries (the Hard Rock Hotel, San Diego, was 2007’s single largest account gained by an R.W. Smith Sales Consultant, weighing in at over a $1M dollar deal!) Work from a home office while having the support of not only your Regional Manager/Mentor, but also the corporate office in San Diego, CA; Have a Monday-Friday type of work week, with majority of your field hours during Monday-Thursday; Win awards (such as Table Top of the Year) and be recognized in front of the entire company for a Job Well Done and possibly earn an all expenses paid trip to Europe to preview the hottest up-and-coming culinary and design trends;R.W. Smith & Co., an employee owned company since 1997, was established in San Diego in 1935 as a wholesale food service equipment and supply distributor serving San Diego County. Currently, we have three distinct business lines including:
A full-service turnkey supplier of food service equipment and supplies for independently owned and national chain account food service establishments (e.g., restaurants, casinos, bars, grills, corporate cafeterias, country clubs, hospitals); A contract design division committed to specifying, designing and/or installing commercial kitchens within the hospitality industry; and, A custom design and fabrication division devoted to hot and cold controlled environments (e.g., agricultural/research universities, pharmaceutical firms, the FDA, and crime/law enforcement labs).
Our expansion mode has provided 60% growth over the last five years and plans are in place for 100% growth over the next five years with expansion plans moving into the Midwest and Northeast. Our employee owners have been honored with two national awards – one being a customer choice award chosen by national customers; and, the other picked by our peers for high achievement in the industry. Our growth in ownership builds from each of us throughout the company – partnering for our future.
Who We Need:
Someone with a college degree; Someone with prior work experience in and hands-on knowledge of restaurants/food service/customer service is strongly preferred; A “people” person with strong verbal and written communication skills; Someone with above average general computer & software skills including experience with sales management tools and customer database programs; Someone with a valid driver’s license and current vehicular insurance, and Someone with reliable transportation.What We Offer:
