The Life Specialist will provide the highest standard of professional, consultative expertise to Affluent/High Net Worth individuals for all financial planning/ risk mitigation strategies that are best solved through the proper use of life insurance. A proven track record of successful business interaction with HNW individuals and the array of professional advisers that surrounds these HNW individuals is required. Essential Functions: Client: The Life Specialist must strive to become one of the client’s most trusted advisors, bringing a differentiated level of service/value to clients in the HNW space. Communication skills must be excellent, and willingness to partner with other professionals who provide service/value to the HNW client is of critical importance. Relationship building capabilities are a must. Financial: The Life Specialist is responsible for capturing new business, and as such is expected to provide consistent flow of revenue to the business while achieving yearly sales goals. The Life Specialist is responsible for developing “initiator knowledge” of other Private Client Services risk management value offerings, and is expected to ensure that all Marsh clients are afforded the opportunity to benefit from these opportunities by making colleague referrals when appropriate. Colleague Capability: Professional Collaboration with other Private Client Service colleagues is essential. In the delivery of optimal life insurance portfolio solutions, superior utilization of colleague team members in the disciplines of medical underwriting, case management, and marketing is crucial Process: Consultative processes are at the forefront of the mission. The Life Specialist must engage clients for essential information necessary to deliver optimal client solutions. He or she must have complete command of the market-differentiated Marsh PCS value offering, and be able to convey such to HNW clients and their trusted advisors. Experience: 5+ years of industry experience. Professional industry designations such as CLU, ChFC, MSFS, CFP, etc., while not required, are most helpful. Competencies: Must be results focused. Must demonstrate sales aptitude, communication skills, building and maintaining relationships, business acumen, and strategic reasoning. Must demonstrate proficiency in the use of word processing and spreadsheet software, and must possess fundamental knowledge of PCS databases and company-sanctioned sales technology tools. Must demonstrate superior communication skills … verbal, and listening. Must be team-oriented, always looking for ways to promote the firm’s intellectual capital. Must maintain the highest ethical standards. Must adhere to compliance and transparency standards.
