Two sales opportunities - Sales Manager & Sales Rep

 

We are Smart Machine Technologies, a small custom equipment manufacturer located in Martinsville, VA with an outstanding reputation since 1975. Smart Machine designs, manufactures and installs custom machinery for a variety of industries including food, beverage and tobacco.  Our customers (predominately Fortune 500) purchase custom high-value capital equipment that is critical to their manufacturing processes.  Due to the growth of our business we now have two new Sales opportunities for a Sales Manager and a Sales Representative.

 

Both positions require the ability to identify industrial customers with a need for custom machinery.  Your understanding of the customer’s application and technology will provide the basis for development of a solution.  You will combine this knowledge with your skill in providing highly engineered and heavily specified quotes.  This will involve extensive interface with our Estimating, Engineering and Production departments to meet delivery and cost goals within a job shop environment. 

 

Both opportunities require:

 

Experience in the food or beverage industry 5 – 10 years of engineered-to-order sales experience in custom capital equipmentExperience with conveyors or material handling equipment is highly desirableAbility to understand mechanical blueprints and drawingsExperience in metal fabrication Experience in launching new products Related bachelor’s degree preferred (mechanical engineering is a plus)The Sales Manager will have experience of a direct sales force.
