Stephens Inc. an elite, full service, privately owned investment bank headquartered in Little Rock, Arkansas, is seeking a Sales & Financial Planning Assistant for our branch office, located in downtown New Haven, CT.

Founded in 1933, Stephens is one of the largest investment banking firms off of Wall Street. We serve a world-wide base of affluent clients including corporations, state and local governments, institutions and individuals.

Responsibilities include:


Providing administrative and marketing support functions for Portfolio Manager and Financial Consultants.

Manage new account process, open accounts, obtain required information and verify for accuracy, enter data into computer system, establish and maintain files. 

Assist Financial Consultants when meeting clients with their financial objectives, serve as point of contact, provide information, and resolve problems.

Develop customized fixed income, equity and asset allocation investment proposals for client presentations based on discussions with financial consultant.

Gather and update presentation material to be used in proposals.

Perform miscellaneous functions such as: prepare correspondence, reports, documents, memos, etc.; create and maintain financial spreadsheets; make travel reservations; arrange meetings and luncheons; prepare expense reports; process mail; answer telephones, and additional administrative duties.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; and a minimum of two years related investment experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

Series 7 and 63 desired or will be required to obtain within 6 months of employment.

Experience in the securities industry including knowledge of mutual fund, stock, bonds, and IRA's.


Other Skills and Abilities: 

Strong computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, E-mail and the Internet. Ability to learn and utilize industry specific software.

Articulate and professional with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Organizational, time management skills and attention to accuracy and details are critical.
