As a Sales Engineer for Kaplan Financial (KF) you are responsible to serve as the lead product resource, technical expert and to provide pre-sales and post-sales support to potential and existing KF customers for our Compliance and Outsourcing products.
o Assists the Sales Organization in positioning a comprehensive compliance solution within the guidelines of our current product offering(s)
o Prepares for and participates in sales presentations in front of a high-level executive audience (both in person and web-based)
Assess an account’s technical needs, business / compliance workflows, issues and requirements via pre-arranged onsite visits. Develop and deliver a ‘best practice’ solution recommendation and proposalConfigure KF products to build compelling proposals and demonstrationsManage pilot evaluations and help provide technical assistance during the evaluation / sales process for both the ASP solution and the Outsourcing solutionCoordinate responses to client RFPs and deliver the technical portion of our responses to key decision makers during a sales callsAssist product development in testing new product offeringsOwn, develop and revise product demonstration sites in conjunction with Marketing
During post-sales, work as a Professional Services Consultant to provide subject matter expertise to assist in the development of Financial Services Compliance Solutions using the latest KF technologies in order to accomplish well defined customer objectives.
· Post-Sales activities include:o Assess, investigate and assist in documenting client requirements in preparation for implementationo Consult with customers to define the appropriate solution using Industry’s best practiceso Provide input on proposal creation and project documentation (including review of project plans)o Deliver formal and informal product training for customers and internal groups at KFo Conduct product certification classes for the sales organization and other internal groups MUST BE WILLING TO WORK ON PROJECTS AT VARIOUS SITES THROUGHOUT NORTH AMERICA AND TRAVEL APPROXIMATELY 50% OF THE TIME
Skills & Prior Experience Required:
Education: Principles, practices, and procedures of computer information technology, sales and business administration, related college degree required or practicing equivalency, with a minimum of 5 years of increasingly responsible experience in a technology related field.
· Must be a self-starter and willing to perform multiple job functions in the pre and post sales.
· Our ideal candidate will be highly customer oriented, driven and energetic. Must be a team player and a creative problem solver. Possess quantitative, influencing and organizational skills
· Must possess a command of written and spoken English with excellent business fundamentals, project estimating, and project planning skills—an extremely detail-oriented individual with above average organizational, analytical, presentation and communication skills.
· Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of products.
