As a Sales Engineer for the Western Region of the US, you will provide technical sales assistance to the west coast account executive team and customers regarding prospective sales opportunities for telephony products and/or network and integration assistance. Identify and understand the customer’s technical and operational needs, the technical capabilities that exist in which to fill the needs, the presentation of the benefits and the risks of the possible technical solutions. This position functions as the technical resource and liaison to PlantCML’s project and product management, development and customer service teams on all applicable technical issues.

 

The ideal candidate will have solid experience in the following areas:

 

Providing site specific analysis on technical requirements specific to customers’ needs and contractual commitments.

 

Developing detailed Statement of Works (SOWs) and Visio Network Diagrams.  

 

Traveling to customer sites to assist in defining specifications for system installations or upgrades.

 

Participating in sales presentations to customers and/or business partners.

 

Participating in beta testing of products.

 

Providing technical support at trade shows.

 

Providing secondary level in-house and on-site technical support to customers’ sites.

 

Candidates with the following skills and qualifications will be given first consideration:

 

BS in Information Systems/Business, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent combination of education, related work and experience.

 

5+ years experience with engineering design, installation and support of ECS-1000, Nortel and/or Avaya PBX systems.

 

5+ years experience supporting users and applications on DOS/Windows and/or Windows NT.

 

5+ years of technical sales and/or customer service experience.

 

Familiarity with LAN and WAN networking and VoIP technology.

 

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

 

Excellent troubleshooting skills.

 

Ability to work independently as well as with others.

 

Ability to travel frequently for extended periods of time.

 

Desired skills, include: 

 

Familiarity with installation and maintenance of suite of Microsoft Back-office Suite of applications.

 

Knowledge of database systems design and architecture, specifically relational database technology and communication methods (ODBC).

 

Familiarity with Computer Telephony Integration (CTI).
