Provide technical Sales support for all Foundry Networks Layer 2-7 products.

Visit customers or contact them via email or phone on a regular basis
Keep up to date on new Foundry products and the industry trends
Assist in the sales process and respond to any outstanding requests
Communicate effectively with your sales partner and management
Conduct weekly meeting with sales partnerAssemble an action plan for future– installs, presentations to deliver, site visits
Review the monthly business plan with your sales partner – insure that you are aware of percentage completion of your sales goal and determine your sales and engineering strategies and tactics to achieve your territory quotas
Insure that you assist in closing all business – quarter closes are the most important task at hand and our top priority
If you are not at your quota goal, determine with your sales partner on your plan to meet that goal.
Provide consultative support and mentor other less experienced Systems.Approximately 20% of travel required.
Required Skills:

Excellent presentations skill required to present technical material to a wide variety of audiences
Ability to perform as a technical consultant in a pre-sales role to the prospect and in a post-sales role to our customer base and provide solutions that leverage Foundry’s complete product line
Experience in the sales process and have a full understanding of the SE’s role in delivering on quota based performance. This would include assisting the sales rep in identifying and determining the following elements in the sales process.
Identifying customer requirements
Identifying time frames for the purchase
Who are the decision makers
Identifying the competitive landscape and professionally positioning Foundry’s technology as superior technology against the competitors
Identifying what the prospects budget is
Ability to work in a sales team and when required, take the lead role in securing or closing a customer sale independently when needed.
Ability to troubleshoot simple and complex problems from Layer 1 through 7 layers
Ability to educate existing and prospective customers on technology and Foundry’s solution sets
Ability to communicate effectively with customers
Experience and understanding of the competitive networking space in your territory and be knowledgeable in differentiating Foundry’s value proposition as a superior solution set for the prospects and customers
Ability to learn new technologies and to be able to explain this to the customer base relating Foundry’s features, advantages and benefits
Provide training classes to our customers in the territory. This would include layer 2 and layer 3 switching and routing classes on Foundry OS as well as Layer 4-7 Server Iron classes
Physical requirements include:

Mousing/keyboarding
Phone usage/walking around internally
No lifting is typically a part of this job

This position requires a professional with excellent communication skills who is willing to travel, and possesses:

B.S./M.S Degree or equivalent experience
5-7 year’s networking industry experience
3-5 year’s experience with Layer 2-3, LAN switches, routers, and TCP/IP
FNCNE and/or FNCNP is highly preferred. Candidates hired without this certification will be required to complete the FNCNE certification program within six (6) months of hire date.
BSEE or BSCS REQUIRED or 5+ years of related work experience. CCIE Certification a plus.
At least 5 years of networking experience, preferably as a pre-sales engineerAbility to communicate, both oral and written, on complex technical and sales issues (theatre style presentation experience is a plus)
Ability to transport and set-up hardware
