This individual will direct and manage sales account executives that are responsible for generating new sales and retaining existing business to meet company sales objectives for Delta Dental products.
· Proactively manages and expands relationships with key brokers/consultants in respective territory and actively engages with staff to develop and cultivate new brokers/consultants contacts
· Monitors staff to ensure that sales tools including direct marketing, cold calling and networking tools are being used to generate proposals; Tracks lost prospects to identify future sales opportunities.
· Ensures that staff submits thorough and professional RFP’s to Underwriting and Operations and demonstrates a solid knowledge of the prospects; Provides appropriate materials, internal experts and preparation for finalist presentations.
· Effectively partners with assigned Account Services Director and Operations management to ensure a smooth new group implementation; Collaborates with the Account Services Director in the development of a strategic plan for significant groups that are going out to bid.
Ideal candidate will have:
· BS, BA degree preferred.
· Three to five years sales management experience/group benefits sales experience or previously demonstrated consistent sales success.
· Established relationships with brokers and customers in the healthcare industry and one to three years experience in employee benefit programs preferred.
· Life and disability license preferred.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· MS Office skills(Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
· Strong organizational/time management skills and multi-tasking abilities.
· Strong leadership, negotiation and staff management skills.
· Dental industry experience preferred.
· Strong understanding of underwriting policies.
· Understands group dental healthcare terminology.
· Knowledge of the insurance industry and trends and Insurance Department regulations.
· Displays knowledge of products.
· Exhibits sound and accurate judgment.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for identifying issues and evaluating solutions.
· Knowledge of competitors’ compliance and contract efforts preferred.
