Sales Consultant (Independent Stores) delivers sales, volume and share of store accounts while supporting the Direct Sales Organization (DSO)/Team objectives. Responsible for developing store account business that grows both horizontal and vertical distribution in Color and Care and creates joint value for P&G and customer across functions (Education, Customer Service, Finance, etc.). The ultimate goal is to develop and execute successful long-term business building strategies capitalizing on industry trends and in line with company principles.
PLEASE NOTE: The territory that this Sales Consultant covers are West Los Angeles, North Orange County and surrounding areas, California. Applicants must be willing and able to travel to all locations in this territory. Local candidates only. P&G does not pay for relocation.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Develop and create strong relationships with store accounts to deliver objectivesWork with Direct Sales Organization’s Regional Sales Managers to ensure all plans are in line with Team and P&G Professional Business Goals & Strategies. Sell new item initiatives to meet or exceed introductory shipment objectives. Create a positive Value impression of P&G brands by sharing Industry & Brand knowledge. Manage all details related to day-to-day business (i.e. volume forecasting, administration, shipment tracking). Sell Merchandising Plans to meet or exceed Bi-monthly objectives. Achieve superior account penetration of store accounts to deliver breakthrough results. Utilize resources, i.e. Education, to create a point of difference and to build dollar volume through knowledge and superior marketing efforts.
2. Maintain appropriate internal controls to protect the Company's assetsWork within budget. Effectively manage the Manager’s Marketing Fund (MMF) and other salon programs to achieve a 4-to-1 payout. Attend meetings: Regional, Divisional and DSO. Operate in line with company policies for travel, expenses, business conduct, etc.
3. Develop personal capability and coach others in your area(s) of expertise to build organizational capacityShare and Reapply among Regional/Divisional Team members. Become an expert across all categories and brands. Become the "go-to" resource for salons on industry trends. Customize and present new item presentation work from Market Strategy & Planning (MS&P), Marketing & Education.
REQUIRED TRAVEL: 80 % of time is spent on local travel and 20 % out-of-town travel. This may vary by territory and change according to the needs of the territory. SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS:Candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, refugee, asylee or lawful permanent resident. Four-year college degree preferred and/or significant related work experience in the Professional Salon and/or Beauty Industry. Minimum of two (2) years of Direct Sales experience (Professional Salon and/or Beauty Industry experience preferred). Excellent presentation skills including communication and writing skills. Excellent organizational skills. Computer proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. Must have a valid driver's license, vehicle and proof of auto insurance. Ability to drive and travel long distances for extended periods. Ability to work weekends when needed.
