Director of Sales and Marketing - Wilmington, MA

The AMETEK Aerospace & Defense Division is a $500-million revenue unit that manufactures and provides repair and overhaul services for commercial transport, regional aircraft, and business jets military aircraft and military vehicles, and also serves both the airframe and engine component manufacturers and aftermarket industry segments.  The division produces sensors and fluid management systems, power data systems, thermal management components and systems, and service operations.  Its product lines include Aircontrol Technologies, Airscrew, Hughes-Treitler, ROTRON and Southern Aeroparts.  The Aerospace and Defense Division is a part of the Electronic Instruments operating group.  The division’s current operating facilities exist in Wilmington, Massachusetts; Garden City, New York; Costa Mesa, California; Tulsa, Oklahoma and The United Kingdom.

 

Sensors and Fluid Management Systems Business Unit 

 

Our Sensors and Fluid Management Systems Business Unit has designed and manufactured aircraft sensors for over 60 years, starting with the first U.S. aircraft engine applications and serves both the military and commercial markets.  We offer custom design and engineering services and high quality manufacturing standards to measure many aircraft operating parameters including temperature, speed, pressure, flow, and level.  Our product portfolio consists of high temperature thermocouples, speed sensors, fuel gauging systems, fuel level and temperature sensors, lube oil level and temperature sensors, hydraulic level and temperature sensors, waste water level sensors, fuel flowmeters and flow switches, pressure sensors, accelerometers, angle of attack and other air data system sensors and cables and harnesses. 

Bachelors degree in Engineering preferred.

MBA a plus.

 

Demonstrated experience managing a representative network and distribution network required, 

3 to 5 years supervisory experience required.

Minimum of  5 to 10  years of sales experience within the aerospace industry.

Minimum of  5 to 10  years of sales experience overall

Minimum of  3 to 7  years of marketing experience

 

Build and grow customer relationships

• Identify and close new business opportunities to support business unit growth strategy

• Conduct market research to identify new target markets to penetrate and identify new channels to market.

• Develop and execute strategies to win targeted new programs

• Participate and support business unit strategic planning and budgeting

• Develop pricing strategies and manage annual budget

• Identify and participate in trade shows

• Provide timely and accurate sales forecast for quarter and year

• Identify retrofit opportunities, potential acquisitions and alliances that tie into key customer strategic needs and growth.
