Job Description:Responsible for managing and growing assigned customer base including contractors, distributors, and wholesalers. Achieves sales growth and revenue projections on end devices, valves, actuators, sensors, boilers, burners and other HVP products. Provide effective quality solutions to meet customer business objectives through sales of our products and services. Team with other divisions to provide total customer sales and service solutions in building automation, fire and security.
Establishes new accounts and sells to existing accounts through research, product promotion, national account calls, phone prospecting and in-person sales calls. Successfully and profitably expands existing accounts and develops new accounts for assigned markets or products. Effectively provides quotes and technical support solutions designed to meet specific customer objectives. Provides territory sales reports and quotes data to sales manager. Communicates sales revenue forecasts, competitor activities, new opportunities and market conditions to sales manager. Performs all necessary administrative tasks such as e-mailing, filing, expense documentation, sign-up paperwork, etc. Maintains or oversees pricing, pricing policies and account activities and sales prospecting records. Skilled at conducting customer needs assessment and development of sales proposals, specifications, estimates and presentations autonomously. Develops and maintains strong business relationships with internal and external contacts including sales peers, architects, consulting engineers, contractors, specification writers, building owners and other local business leaders with the objective of obtaining a sales advantage over competitors. Works with operations, finance, legal and other internal functions to follow through on all sold jobs to ensure satisfactory completion and high customer satisfaction. Assists customers and potential customers with problems involving the use of company products and services and recommend suitable resolutions according to their needs. Monitors competitive activities and market trends and report to team and other SBT sales peers on an ongoing basis. May instruct and mentor developing interns or sales employees in all aspects of professional sales role. May contribute in sales tool and/or sales skills training development. Participates in sales department meetings, civic and professional organizations or workshops, discussions and seminars.
Education: High School diploma. Certification may be required in some areas.
Typically 2-5 years of successful experience in related field and successful demonstration of key responsibilities and knowledge with five to seven years of experience in engineering science or a related field preferred.
Organizational skills and computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Travel averages 50% to 80%.
