Safety Manager- Automotive Manufacturing Plant Environment (DTG)

We are looking for an experienced individual who can assume the duties of our Safety Manager at this account.

Position Overview: Supports Premier Site Management team to operationally and strategically align Safety procedures and services. This position reports to the Premier Site Manager and is part of the account’s Operations Department.

The Successful Candidate for the position will possess the following:

· Must have a Bachelor’s degree in HR or business related field.

· Proven Safety Management experience in a Manufacturing Environment (Five years minimum), with CSP certification.

· Experience dealing with ergonomics issues.

· Willingness to rotate shifts to accomplish job Requirements.

· Demonstrated Leadership Ability

· Effective Interpersonal skills

· Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills

· Customer Service Orientation

· Good Planning Skills

· Works well under pressure

· Computer Literate

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

¨ Must be able to demonstrate effective leadership at the site level for safety performance in a variety of situations; incumbent is the primary contact for all site safety communication and issues

¨ Work in concert with GM Safety Manager to coordinate site safety efforts and continuity of programs and procedures

¨ Manage the Workers’ Compensation Program including maintaining the Premier Safety Database, investigating all incidents, completing 5-Why investigations, managing the alternate duty program.

¨ Make highly visible efforts to audit and communicate safety standards and other information; meet with, listen to, and follow-up with supervisors and/or employees to check status of program implementation, employee suggestions, and employees undergoing a program of temporary alternate duty

¨ Lead safety efforts; participating in site safety meetings, educating employees on upcoming events and focus

¨ Form and facilitate a safety committee; conduct regular meetings; follow-up on safety committee projects to ensure thorough implementation

¨ Coordinate the completion of initial and annual safety training as required by the Premier System and site Training Matrix.

Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an Associate to successfully perform the key actions of this position.

¨ The employee is also required to talk and/or hear in an industrial setting (noise level is moderate). The employee is frequently required to stand and walk on concrete surface from 4-8 hours. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

¨ The vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception and adjust focus.
