Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Safety or Environmental Technician / Coordinator that possesses a solid understanding and application of safety principles and concepts, including incident investigations and shop floor knowledge within an established manufacturing facility. 

 

Our ideal candidate will employ organizational and management skills to coordinate the safety program and maintain a safe working environment.

Responsibilities:

Create and administer applicable safety training to shop personnelDevelop and administer programs to ensure a safe working environment, compliant to OSHA and other applicable regulatory agency standards  Investigate shop floor incidents Conduct monthly safety auditsEducate employees in the development and maintenance of a safe working environment Coordinate safety meetings and other training classes as requiredFrequently perform on-site “walk throughs” and advise employees on any potential or noticeable hazardsServe as Safety Coordinator; Ensure compliance with safety policiesConduct safety audits on new equipment and assist in correcting safety or ergonomic issues as requiredEnsure compliance with all TS-16949 and ISO 14001 requirementsDevelop, research, and conduct training in the following:Safe equipment operation proceduresLock-out programTag-out programFirst responder team drillsSchedule and conduct facility evacuation exercises 

Requirements:

3 - 5 years experience as a Safety Technician / CoordinatorWorking knowledge of safety practices and principlesThorough knowledge of the followingRegulatory standardsChemical disposalRegulatory permittingWillingness to be available at all times to investigate any issues / accidents that may occur on the plant floorTrainer / instructor experienceStrong written and oral communication skillsAbility to efficiently operate a personal computer 

Education:

Bachelors Degree

 

Rate of Pay:

$50,000 to $60,000

 

Hours:

1st Shift

This is a full-time, permanent position
