This position is responsible for the safety design elements within the overall hybrid system design.  This responsibility extends to all system integration centers in the JCS organization (global).
 
Typical Duties:
Preparation, control and execution of safety plans and sign-off process for the complete hybrid system development cycle (system, electronics, software) including definition of process and product standards.  Execution and documentation of safety analysis (FMEA, FTA, RBD) process  Lead development of  design principles for a technical safety concept  Validation of a technical safety concept by qualitative and quantitative analysis  Preparation, control and execution of  test plans for safety relevant content  Review of  safety processes and documentation of the analysis and results with suppliers and internal development departments  Preparation of safety sign-off certificates  Execution of product safety assessments  Establish core design principles and practices across the organization to insure best practices are followed by design teams and industry, governmental, and customer safety requirements are met.  Lead the evaluation of customer safety requirements and the reconciliation of gaps between specific program requirements and JCS best practices.  Assist in the process of reviewing and generating intellectual property related to hybrid battery systems.  
Requirements:
BSEE from accredited four-year college or university. MS degree is desirable. 10 years of professional engineering experience in related field Good computer skills (Microsoft Office Suites) OE Automotive/Tier 1 experience with safety-critical systems is highly desired Experience with high voltage EV/HEV systems is highly desired Solid communication and organizational skills
