R-3/5 is a 62 bed acute inpatient Rehabilitation unit, offering opportunities to work in a multi disciplinary team environment. Patient focus on neurological and spinal cord injury patients as well as CVA, brain injury, amputation, multiple trauma, burns, MS, and orthopedics. Nursing functions as the facilitator for the holistic approach utilized by the multi-disciplinary health team in conjunction with the Wound Care Program in its effort to restore the patient to his/her maximum level of function. On going educational opportunities, which include a rehab nursing course.





Responsibilities:

NURSING CONCEPT:
The patients offer a variety of challenges for both the experienced nurse and the new graduate, i.e., tracheostomy care, CAPD and Hemo dialysis, pre- and post-operative surgery, feeding tubes, central lines, and diabetic care. Patient/Family education needs provides an opportunity for the professional to develop and utilize a multitude of teaching skills. There is an RN designee on each shift. The RN team leader plans, implements, coordinates and evaluates care from admission through discharge in collaboration with the case manager and the interdisciplinary team for all patients on the team. Our nursing team is comprised of RNs, LPNs and CNAs.




Qualifications:

Must possess a current valid Arizona RN license or temporary Arizona RN license. Relates throughout the interview process the experience, training and education needed to perform the job. Experience in the clinical area for which he or she is applying is desired.
