Job Description: The Wells Fargo Home Equity Customer Management team has an exciting opportunity for a Risk Management Consultant (with a focus on credit strategy) to establish and build credit strategies in the High Risk / Loss Mitigation loss mitigation area. Home Equity Customer Management Risk team is a newly formed dynamic team, with the goal of optimizing risk/reward of Wells Fargo Home Equity through sophisticated modeling and analytical techniques. You will have the opportunity to develop, implement and leverage creative and industry-leading technologies in a fast-paced environment with abundant senior management exposure. Key responsibilities include: Design, develop and implement new statistical models to segment HE accounts based on risk level Provide analysis and recommend risk-mitigation methods/treatments to the segments Work with QA/Operation team to implement new risk policies and processes where appropriate to new segments/treatments Manage existing risk management programs and provide MIS tracking reports to those programs Identify, drive, and solve emerging risk related issues. Partner and communicate with various groups in risk-related projects Present and communicate to other groups and senior managers
Minimum Qualifications: - BA/BS in business, finance, economics, statistics, operation research, math, or related field - 3-7 years work experience in risk management in financial institutions and/or experience performing business and statistical analysis and modeling, using SAS or other statistical software packages - Familiarity with various computer systems including Unix, mainframe, and PC - Excellent analytic skills and problem solving abilities - Self-motivated, able to drive projects, and work both independently and as a team player in a complex environment - Strong verbal and written communication, and strong presentation skills - Ability to interact effectively with other business units
Preferred Skills: - Advanced degree in the above fields - Project management experience - Knowledge about Wells Fargo risk systems, databases, and consumer banking
