RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Retirement Education Specialist one of your primary responsibilities is to effectively and efficiently provide onsite education services to employee/participant customers – emphasizing the participants to “take action” immediately to prepare for retirement. High action ratios and deferrals are critical results.
The Retirement Education Specialist also supports Sales efforts by creating and implementing high quality participant programs and services for both clients and prospects – based on identified needs. In this position you will work closely with Plan Sponsors, Sales Representatives, Relationship Managers, Account Managers and other internal and external partners to accomplish these goals.
The Retirement Education Specialist develops presentation materials and leads employee/participant meetings – including investment education seminars, enrollment meetings, pre-retirement meetings, train the trainer sessions, etc. Meeting assistance encompasses both small and large group presentations, as well as individual retirement consultants (1 X 1’s).
REQUIREMENTS
Significant knowledge of the 401k or 403b or 457 and Defined Benefit businesses. Knowledge of MassMutual’s services and investment offerings is a plus. The job could require, at time, as much as 80% travel. NASD Series 6 & 63 registrations are required. Candidates hired into this position who do not have their registrations are required to obtain them at MassMutual’s cost. A total of 45 days from the completion of the Series 6 preparation workshop is allotted to pass the Series 6; an additional 45 days for the 63. This position requires very strong communications and customer service skills, as well as strong negotiation skills.

COMPENSATION:
We pay competitive base salaries and we reward performance. Our salary structure is commensurate with experience. In addition, you will be eligible to participate in our comprehensive benefits program including medical insurance and 401(K).
