Job Description --------------- As a leading provider of HR advisory services, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) brings together a broad range of professionals working in the human resource service arena -- compensation, benefits, retirement, HR strategy, regulatory compliance, tax, process management, culture and change, communications and financial planning -- affording our clients a tremendous breadth and depth of expertise, both locally and globally. PwC's Global Human Resource Solutions practice assists clients in improving the performance of all aspects of Human Capital and the HR organization through technical excellence, thought leadership and innovation around four core business issues: Financial Management, Risk Management and Compliance, Operational Excellence, and Transaction Effectiveness. Our expertise in tax, accounting, financial, actuarial and compliance issues, combined with our knowledge of best practices, sets us apart. With practitioners in offices around the world, PwC helps to drive shareholder value for our clients by helping them align human capital strategies with business strategies. Retirement plan sponsorship today entails more challenges and more opportunities than ever before. Change is being driven by new HR strategies, enabling technologies, new laws and regulations, demographics and volatility of retirement assets. New retirement plan designs have emerged, and new funding mechanisms have been identified. Further, with a greater portion of employee retirement assets committed to defined contribution plans, issues of investment education and asset allocation are becoming more significant to providing a successful retirement program. Our Retirement Benefits Services practice helps companies address these issues and more. We provide annual actuarial valuation and related services to a wide range of companies, as well as assisting a large number of clients with specific issues that they may have. Retirement Benefits Services helps companies address the need to mitigate pension expense volatility and enhance investment performance by utilizing sophisticated asset allocation, hedging and risk management strategies. We help companies fund other benefits such as executive plans, severance benefits and international benefits utilizing tax efficient vehicles. We also assist with the development of new qualified plan arrangements, implementation of cash balance plans and other hybrid arrangements, and vendor search and selection. We also help our clients address compliance issues -- performing compliance reviews and working through discrimination testing issues by assisting companies with creating and implementing new plan designs, strategic communications and funding alternatives.
