Store Director Job Overview:
Store Directors must be able to comprehend, communicate, and implement the store strategy and action plan. Store Directors are responsible for motivating their team to complete the sales process, ensure customer satisfaction, comply with company procedures, and maximize productivity and profitability. Store Directors are also responsible for hiring, training, and monitoring the development of their staff. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Maintain and manage the sales floor: Enhance the customer experience by leading your team of associates in providing strong levels of customer service. Monitor store presentation and support brand consistency. Utilize merchandising skills to drive sales through effective merchandise presentations. Enforce Loss Prevention policy and awareness on the floor in order to control external shrink. Manage and lead your team of employees: Conduct associate recruiting, interviewing, and hiring. Create and maintain team relationships. Enforce Loss Prevention policy and awareness with employees in order to control internal shrink. Diagnose, develop and evaluate the performance of all store employees, including other store managers. Partner with the Human Resources Department in addressing all employee relations issues. Communicate and collaborate with upper management and the corporate office: Manage and maintain store systems and processes to ensure compliance with company standards. Collaborate with upper management in analysis of store-level reports; create and execute action plans accordingly to maximize results. Uphold and evaluate established best practices and communicate feedback to District Managers.
Because of the level of responsibility accrued to a Store Director, and because of our high standards for our store employees, the following are minimum requirements for this position:
Significant prior retail apparel management experience (minimum 3-5 years, preferably more). Previous retail experiences includes handling issues involving: inventory control receiving loss prevention visual merchandising human resources customer service leading, managing, and motivating a staff Excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to multi-task.
