AMERICAN GIRL PLACE, located in Chicago near the Magnificent Mile, in New York near Rockefeller Center and in Los Angeles in The Grove shopping center, is the award-winning retail and entertainment site created by American Girl,a wholly owned subsidiary of Mattel, Inc, selling books, dolls, clothing and other products for girls age 3-12. We have an excellent opportunity for the following professionals to join our team. American Girl Boutique & Bistro is the award-winning retail and entertainment destination located in Alpharetta, Georgia. As a wholly owned subsidiary of Mattel, Inc., we sell books, dolls, and other merchandise and provide a range of inspiring, fun experiences for girls ages 3-12, including a Bistro, Doll Hair Salon and Book Store. We are currently seeking a full-time Retail Department Manager. The Department Manager is responsible for supporting the Store Manager in the management, leadership and oversight of all aspects of the retail business. Duties include: 'Managing daily retail operations and meeting revenue and expense goals 'Provide high customer satisfaction through superior service and maintaining full merchandise position 'Manage all department personnel to meet performance standards, hire applicants 'Oversee department staff (leads, sales associates, cashiers), ensuring the best possible experience for all guests; guide and coach staff performance 'Work in partnership with retail, events, and bistro groups in the planning and execution of special events Experience/Skills: 'Candidates must be enthusiastic individuals with a passion for working in retail 'High school diploma or higher education with 3 ' 5 years of management/ supervisory experience in retail or related field which includes expertise in customer service 'Must have a special affinity for working with children and possess a warm and friendly demeanor We offer a competitive salary and medical, dental and 401(k) plans.
