Who We Need:

MARS is currently seeking a Strategic Development Manager for the Retail Marketing team based in our Southfield, MI office.  Our team is a direct interface with retailers primarily in the grocery class of trade. We are dedicated to developing, managing and executing sales-driven programs based on platform initiatives that reflect consumer and category trends, shopping behaviors, retailer objectives, etc.

 

What You'll Do:

Provide support for sales team(s) that call on retailer clients primarily in the grocery industry Support includes leading proposal efforts, presentation creation, writing and concept development Identify necessary resources both internal and external to create consumer based promotions, retail initiatives, brand positioning, category solutions, etc. Able to receive, interpret and translate actionable information to various touch points, both internal and external Maintain ongoing tracking of presentations in development for sell in presentation Serve as the liaison between sales team and execution team for status updates, providing and receiving feedback Serve as the liaison between creative team, Account Planning group, and Equity Marketing team Create case study reports for sold, executed programs for use in future sales presentations Conducts research to support presentation proposals from both internal and external sources Participate in development of program budgets and liabilities  Provide key support in business development including the ability to identify "add-on" sales opportunities

 

What You Can Bring to Us:

Bachelor's degree required5- 8 years of retail experience including promotional, marketing and/or advertisingGood communication skills, both oral and written Highly proficient with PowerPoint, Excel and all other MS Office software Highly flexible and solution oriented Strong conceptual and visualizing skills An understanding of basic P/L revenue models Creative thinking that can contribute to brainstorming sessions Self-starter who takes initiative Positive attitude, service oriented, results focused
