Responsibilities:

Administers specified respiratory treatment and medications, uses a variety of life support equipment to treat specific patients and diseases. Conducts electrocardiograms, and cardiac stress tests, sets up and scan Holter monitors, performs pulmonary function testing for physician diagnosis of cardiopulmonary disease. Attends high-risk infant deliveries, resuscitations CPR, and Trauma. Performs arterial blood gas puncture and analysis. Assists physicians with bronchoscopes, swan ganz and arterial line placement. Communicates and participates with physicians, nurses, and other members of the health care team to provide quality health care.



Qualifications:

Education/Experience: One year critical care experience preferred. Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by the Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners.

Technical Skills: Ability to operate or be trained to operate respiratory therapy equipment and perform cardiopulmonary procedures.

Other qualifications/certificate/license: Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification, NRP, STABLE, and a State of Nevada Blood Gas Technologist License must be obtained within 90 days of hire. ACLS and /or PALS preferred.
