The sales specialist is responsible for achieving sales goals and implementing company approved programs within a company assigned geographically — defined territory. This is accomplished by providing company — approved information and services to all classes of accounts such as physicians, retail pharmacies and hospitals. The sales specialist is also responsible for coordinating sales strategies with appropriate teammates to maximize sales in the territory.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1) Attain territory sales goals and objectives and assist in achieving regional sales goals by making sales presentations to key customers that create a demand for company products

a) Consistently sell core sales strategy for each promoted product to create demand b) Plan each day by establishing a daily plan and objective c) Prepare for each call by establishing pre-call objectives d) Focus on gaining each customer’s commitment to proposed action e) Sample physicians to increase sales based on their potential f) Respond to customer needs in a timely manner g) Attend and actively participate in all sales meetings

2) Learn and utilize Reckitt Benckiser and competitive product knowledge

a) Complete training programs designed to increase Reckitt Benckiser and competitive product knowledge b) Maintain continual knowledge of current reprints, visual aids, promotional materials and use them effectively in selling situations c) Understand and apply the pharmacoeconomics of Reckitt Benckiser products to customers affect by managed health care

3) Manage assigned territory

a) Utilize call plan and account information to make effective sales calls to targeted physicians, retail accounts, hospitals and other customers to maximize sales b) Identify, plan and execute in-services, film showings, speaker programs and other educational programs in high potential areas to maximize sales c) Exercise fiscal control of operational expenses (car, gas, office supplies, telephone, postage, lodging, meals and entertainment) d) Inventory, store and maintain sales materials and samples according to company policy and PDMA guidelines e) Operate the company car safely according to fleet policy and procedures f) Provide timely and accurate feedback to the Regional Business Manager concerning sales trends as well as business conditions and opportunities

4) Administrative responsibilities

a) Submit weekly report as directed by the Regional Business Manager b) Submit expense report weekly (retain copy) c) After each call, review for effectiveness, establish the objective for the next call, and record the information on the appropriate call sheet d) Respond to information as requested by management within specified time frames

Four-year college degree (BA/BS degree) One to three years of prior outside sales experience in B2B sales. Self-motivated; works without direct supervision. Is proactive and takes advantage of opportunities without being asked. Seeks opportunities for self improvement. Team oriented Confident; organized; persuasive; tenacious; analytical History of proven success in prior sales roles Skilled in planning business activities. Set priorities, establishes objectives and milestones, identifies and allocates resources appropriately. Uses tools to plan business activities on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. Strong work ethicCan work long hours without losing effectiveness
