We are currently seeking qualified individuals to fill various positions of Child Care Aides for our Children’s Residential Program (CRP). The Children’s Residential Program serves the unique needs of children and youth with visual impairments and other disabilities, ages 5-21. In a warm, loving, home setting, children receive round-the-clock supervision, counseling and educational experiences designed to develop the highest level of independence possible.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
Job emphasis is centered on helping the children increase daily living skills, socialization, independence and pre-vocational skills. Daily living skills instruction includes tooth brushing, showering, dressing, bed-making, toilet training, eating, laundry, kitchen, among other activities. Assists in planning, organizing, and instruction of recreation activities including swimming, bowling, gym, dance among other events on campus and in the community. Provides students with opportunities to make choices either by signing, picture cues, partial physical assistance or total physical assistance. Maintains logs on students regarding behavior or incidents for communication with school staff, parents and residential staff. Attends staff meetings, in-service trainings and other agency/program meetings as scheduled.
Qualifications
Minimum 6 months prior experience providing direct supervision. 2 years of college or A.A. degree from accredited college or university in Child Dev., Special Ed., Psych. or related field. Appropriate experience may be substituted for education. Valid CA Driver license and eligibility to drive agency vehicles. Must be at least 21 years of age.
