The time is right to join HNTB Corporation. We are a national transportation infrastructure firm that offers extensive design, engineering and planning services to federal, state, and local public and private clients. HNTB's talented and dedicated professionals provide design, planning, and construction management expertise that exceed expectations. We are seeking candidates for the Resident Construction Manager II position in our San Jose office. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of assignments such as: overall field management of HNTB's contract, administration and coordination on mid to large size project of a diverse and complex nature; monitor activities of assigned staff for conformance with HNTB's contractual requirements; provide technical leadership for complex or unique assignments; review drawings and specifications for constructability; analyze complex construction/design problems requiring the development of new or improved techniques or procedures and consult with design engineering personnel; read and interpret complex contract documents )plans, specs, shop drawings); collect data to brief client on project issues and provide possible resolutions; and prepare summary inspection reports of daily activities. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering plus minimum of 15 years construction related experience. Professional Engineer (PE) license required. Candidate must possess strong work ethic and must demonstrate good organization, communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to meet deadlines and put in the time needed to get the job done. Candidate must have the ability to operate a standard personal computer as well as knowledge of and experience with standard office computer software.
