Under direction, provides general technical assistance to a Research Assistant Professor and takes responsibility for research projects in experimental neuropathology: cryostats sectioning of frozen brain and spinal cord tissue; performs paraffin embedding and paraffin sectioning, histochemical and immunohistochemical staining, quantitavie analysis of histological sections; maintains laboratory equipment; assists with data analysis and computer entry; handles mice and the maintenance of their colonies; participates in behavioral studies; performs surgical techniques including anesthesia and stereotaxic surgery; executes basic tissue culture techniques and tissue DNA extraction and genotyping (PCR); performs other job related duties as required.

Requirements: Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Biology, Neuroscience, Biochemistry, or Cell/Molecular Biology; must have experience in histological techniques; proficient in MS Office Suite; excellent organization and communication skills.
