CENTRA Technology, Inc. in Burlington, Massachusetts is seeking an Open Source Research Specialist to support its growing Research & Analysis Group.  CENTRA Technology, Inc. provides research and analysis services to federal, state and local government customers on a wide range of topics including international relations, international trade and investment, and homeland and national security.  Specific requirements include five+ years of experience in:

·         Acquiring and monitoring open source information resources, to include information available in libraries, databases, academic and commercial sources, and the Internet. The candidate will also have experience in evaluating open source materials’ validity.  

·         Establishing and maintaining information streams via multiple search engines, RSS, public databases, etc.  Knowledge of IT tools facilitating the collection and management of open source information.

·         Conducting training on new open source-related tools, techniques and tradecraft. May require monthly travel.

·         Possessing a comprehensive understanding of open source information collection best practices in accordance with applicable laws, orders, regulations and directives governing collection and the retention of open source material. 

·         Executing customer outreach strategies aimed at determining customer open source information needs and collection requirements.

·         Security clearance desired.

All applicants must have strong organization and communication skills and advanced MS Office skills. Applicants should have a BA/MA in library science or a related field, and must possess strong research and writing skills.  As we provide services for US Government customers in the national and homeland security arenas, all CENTRA employees must apply for and receive security clearances.  Therefore, US citizenship is required for all positions.
