Research Biologist

Applied Nanotech, Inc. is seeking a senior scientist to work with bio threat agents, surrogates and other analytes, and perform related research.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

- Develop and manage programs that result in innovations and patents.
- Search scientific literature and discover technical impasses and areas of new development including new methods and procedures that may be considered for application or modification to selected experiments. Select the appropriate methodology and procedures to meet the experimental objectives. Maintain accurate records of experiments and results.
- Perform a wide variety of complex procedures and techniques that may include, but are not limited to: bacterial culture, clinical/diagnostic microbiology, DNA analysis, protein analysis, protein purification.
- Purchase and operate laboratory instruments used to perform tests, analysis and other laboratory procedures.

- Provide training to laboratory personnel.

Qualifications:

-Critical and creative thinker.

-PhD preferred.

-Professional knowledge of the theories, principles, and methods of biology and related disciplines such as chemistry, molecular biology, biochemistry, material science, and physics.
- Experience managing and performing a wide variety of complex procedures and techniques in laboratories with bio-threats, toxins, VOCs, et al.
- Skilled in determining experimental data needed and the best approach and methods to obtain the data. The ability to adapt and modify established approaches and methods to meet objectives.

-Versed in data analysis and interpretation.
-Excellent written and spoken communication skills to prepare manuscripts and presentations.
