The American Institutes for Research (AIR), a leading social science research firm with locations throughout the United States, is seeking Research Associates to support our national security and intelligence practice area. The Research Associate will support current and future project efforts including the development and application of training evaluation, workforce assessment, job analysis, measurement, personnel selection, test development, statistical analysis, and other applied psychology techniques. Candidates selected will be subject to a government security investigation, and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Successful candidates will work as part of a research team on one or more projects providing assistance in the following areas: designing and conducting training course or program evaluations, conducting workforce analyses, planning and conducting quantitative analyses; organizing and documenting analytical results and research procedures (e.g., data collection, instrument preparation, and statistical analyses); preparing technical reports and journal articles; presenting topics to clients and the public; designing and conducting research projects for federal and private sponsors; and writing or contributing to competitive proposals for applied social science research. Periodic travel may be required.

Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information at the TS/SCI level. Current TS/SCI candidates are strongly encouraged to apply. A B.A. (with experience), M.A., M.S., or equivalent experience in industrial/organizational psychology, psychometrics, instructional systems design, human resources, organizational behavior, testing and measurement, or other related research field required. Additional qualifications should include the following: experience conducting quantitative research; ability to work with others as part of a research team; experience with statistical software; ability to efficiently prepare documents and conduct analyses; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong methodological background; and interest in publishing. Experience using Microsoft Access or survey development software is also of interest, but not required.
