Description: The position of Research Director for government application modernization and large scale government applications. This individual must be familiar with the processes, drivers and challenges to government application modernization. As governments struggle with whether to modernize, how to modernize, and some of the challenges that modernization will bring, this analyst will be able to assist them in the full life cycle of the process. Increasingly, legacy modernization will rely on large suite vendors such as Oracle and SAP. Thus, the ideal candidate will also be knowledgeable about ERP applications including the features that distinguish one from another and the challenges of deploying them. Additionally, a major area within government for modernization if the area of human services systems. The ideal candidate will have some background in this area, as well. The analyst will have reasonably strong technical skills, but also be able to address some of the management and political challenges that modernization is fraught with. The candidate must be willing to travel extensively and address client inquiries across many time zones.
