We are currently seeking a Renewable Electricity Technician Instructor at Mid-State Technical College – Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin.  This is a full-time position with a 38-week contract; work hours may vary from traditional daytime schedule.  July 2008 start date.

 

Position Description:

Teach courses in renewable electricity technology with emphasis on installation and maintenance of solar photovoltaic and small wind systems and related on-site electric generation technologies. Additional teaching responsibilities include electric metering installation, service, and repair. Assist in program planning, curriculum development, and the ongoing maintenance of the Renewable Electricity Technician Associate Degree Program.  Assist with program budget development and maintenance of equipment and inventory.  Responsible for classroom management, student evaluation, and records maintenance.  Assist with student recruitment, registration, advisement, and placement.  Assist with advisory committees and co-curricular student activities.  Maintain technical skills to current industry standards.  Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in a related field; discipline-centered Master’s Degree preferred.  Minimum of one year (2,000 hours) of non-teaching, work experience with extensive design, installation, and maintenance of solar photovoltaic systems, small wind electric systems, and electric meters.  Post-secondary teaching experience preferred.  NABCEP certification in solar photovoltaic systems preferred.  Must be able to demonstrate good organizational skills, positive interpersonal skills, and excellent communication skills in educating adult learners.  Must embrace MSTC’s “core values” of student centeredness, commitment, accountability, respect, integrity, and exceptional service.
