Shift: Night: Shift Hours: (6P - 6:30A)
Salary Range: $20.30- $32.43 based on experience
Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. The RN, using the nursing process, provides patient/family/consumer education using a wide range of teaching methods to promote health in a variety of settings. The RN provides total patient care according to established standards, policies, and procedures. The incumbent admits patients to the nursing unit, assessing needs, identifying nursing problems, establishing priorities of care needed to return the patient to optimal health and documenting appropriate patient and admission information.
2. The Registered Nurse makes patient rounds, observing patient condition and vital signs, assessing findings and recording observations in the patient's charts. This position also assists physicians during their rounds and treatments. This includes preparing the patient for examination, setting up equipment needed for treatment, carrying out ordered treatments and charting them, and explaining to and instructing the patient in necessary treatments as appropriate.
3. This position transcribes and reviews physician orders and assures that necessary arrangements are made with other patient care departments as ordered.
4. The Registered Nurse reviews patient medication records and prepares, administers, and records medications and IV solutions and restarts IV's.
5. This position provides patient and family instruction regarding the patient's care throughout hospitalization and upon discharge.
6. Follows safety standards in all aspects of performance of the above functions, reports/removes unsafe equipment and attends safety education sessions.
Qualifications:
Requirements: Graduate of an approved school of nursing Current licensure in the state of Nebraska. Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification.Ability to demonstrate behaviors consistent with BHS values, management expectations, and service standards.
Preferred Qualities:
Computer experience helpful as well as knowledge of Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
