Overview:

The Banner Desert Endoscopy department provides Gastroenterology and Pulmonary procedures for Adult and Pediatric populations, outpatient as well as inpatient. The Endoscopy department is one of the busiest Endoscopy Labs in the state of Arizona - averaging 600 to 700 procedures per month. The lab is high tech and cases are often complex.

The department is staffed with specially trained registered nurses, endoscopy technicians and other support personnel who provide the highest quality of care and personal attention to each and every patient. Each procedure room is staffed with an RN and an endoscopy technician. Our patient satisfaction survey scores an average of 98%. Our employee satisfaction per Gallop Q12 survey is in 85% percentile . More than 25 physicians utilize our state-of-the-art facility, which consists of 20 admission/recovery beds, seven procedure rooms, and a lab that services our PH/Motility and Endoanal ultrasound cases. Our physicians provide more than 35 types of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures related to the gastro-intestinal and pulmonary systems. Although the majority of our patients receive moderate sedation, we are fully equipped to provide full anesthesia if the patient requires



Responsibilities:

Assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with facility and departmental policies and in accordance with standards of professional nursing practice. This position is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self or others who are under his/her direction. The Registered Nurse utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills necessary to assess data and plan, provide and evaluate care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of patients on his or her assigned unit. BHS Service Standards and support of healing environment are exhibited in all aspects of the Registered Nurse's performance.



Qualifications:

Must possess an RN license valid in Arizona prior to start date. Must be able to rotate weekend, holiday and on-call. One year of RN experience necessary. Prefer RN with previous endoscopy experience. Must have or acquire ACLS, PALS, and basic EKG skills within 6 months of hire. Relates throughout the interview process the experience, training and education needed to perform the job. One year experience as a working RN is required. Experience in the clinical area for which he or she is applying is desired.
