Banner Desert Medical Center is a busy Level II Trauma ED serving the emergency care needs of East Valley residents. Featuring board-certified emergency physicians, specialty-trained nurses and support staff, Banner Desert's Emergency department is well-equipped to diagnose and treat a patient's specific injury or illness. In fact, we treat more emergencies than any other hospital in Arizona. Our staff is committed to treating patients medical conditions thoroughly and efficiently and always with Banner's mission in mind - to provide safe, excellent patient care.


At Banner Desert, we recognize that emergencies are not planned and are often stressful situations. That's why we're working to make sure a patient's visit goes as smoothly as possible. We're working to improve the design of our Emergency department as well as our processes in order to ensure that patients are seen by a physician and receive care as quickly as possible.

Banner Children's Hospital at Banner Desert Medical Center provides emergency care to pediatric patients. We recognize that children are not small adults and that they require specialized care. That's why we have a dedicated Pediatric Emergency department that is staffed by board-certified pediatric emergency physicians.

Communication plays a key role in a patient's successful course of treatment in the Emergency department. Language and interpretive services are available at all Banner facilities.



Responsibilities:

Assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with facility and departmental policies; and, in accordance with standards of professional nursing practice. This position is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self and others who are under his/her direction. The Registered Nurse utilizes specialized knowledge, judgement, and nursing skills necessary to assess data, plan/provide/evaluate care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of patients on his/her assigned unit.



Qualifications:

Must possess a current or temporary Arizona RN or compact state RN license. Relates throughout the interview process the experience, training and education needed to perform the job. 1 year of Emergency Department; ICU-CCU or Med surg experience -- preferred. Other recent acute-care work experience is considered.
