The
Registered Nurse is responsible and accountable for prescribing, delegating and coordinating patient care. Accountable that patient care meets standards of safety, effectiveness, patient rights and guest relations. Supervises care delivered by patient care team; coordinates plan of care; provides education for patients and staff; collaborates with other disciplines; provides direct patient care for specific patient age groups. JOB DESCRIPTION: Research all sources of patient information, including paper charts, electronic charts and available databases to identify information for internal and external research registries/databases. Evaluate/interpret this clinical information, and identify potential inconsistencies or errors for correction by nursing or medical staff. Perform routine audits of all clinical information residing in internal or external registries/databases. Assist as needed in retrospective research and QI projects Provide training to new fellows, residents and staff physicians on internal and external registries/databases. Serve as a clinical expert for the maintenance and configuration of internal databases/registries Research related presentations Basic project management for QI and audit projects Provide Clinical Office Care for Non-Transplant Patients that have Liver and/or Pancreas related medical issues. Successful candidates should possess: REQUIRED SKILLS: · Basic computer literacy (Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet) · Familiarity with medical terminology and concepts · Strong Critical Thinking Skills EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: · Research or work within medical field, 3-5 years · Familiarity with patient charts/records EDUCATION REQUIRED: Associates Degree or Bachelors Degree in Nursing Current TX RN licensure or eligibility to obtain 3-5 years of experience as an RN Required. Experience working with Liver and Kidney Transplant Patients.
