Job description:
The Regional Support Engineer is responsible for owning the customer’s network by providing desktop and network administration and support to ProNet's Managed Services clients in Chicago and surrounding area. The RSE’s responsibilities includes but are not limited to providing remote desktop and network support, providing on-site desktop and network support, performing on-site moves, adds, changes, performing desktop and network administration and monitoring (proactive), and assisting in on-site project implementation. This position is empowered to deliver both a responsive and enjoyable experience to our customers, while providing on-site and remote LAN management services. This includes improving the efficiency and effectiveness of our customers by proactively administering and supporting their desktop and networking needs. This is achieved by demonstrating ownership and a **can-do** approach where the customer feels our utmost commitment towards fulfilling their technical and business requirements. This position must practice commitment towards taking a team approach as well as responsibility for contributing to the overall team success.
Education & Related Experience Includes:
· BS degree in CIS or related field OR equivalent related work experience
· 2 -5 years of related workstation and server experience in a LAN environment
· 2-5 years of related experience working in a proactive LAN Administration role
· Extensive experience providing end-user support via phones and remote management tools
· Strong knowledge of implementing and utilizing remote network management and monitoring tools (Patchlink, Altiris, Insight Manager, etc.)
· Experience implementing and supporting desktop operating systems: Windows 2000/XP
· Experience implementing and supporting network operating systems: Windows NT/2000 and/or NetWare 5.x/6.x.
· Ability to analyze data to offer recommendations
· Ability to travel and maintain a flexible work schedule
· Valid state driver's license and good driving record
· Support experience with Citrix Metaframe/XP, network back-up software, and desktop/network anti-virus software
· Support experience with BackOffice Applications is desired
· MCP or CNA certification is highly desired
