The Regional Marketing Specialist, Business Development, will work in tandem with their respective Regional Sales Directors and National Account Managers (NAMs) in order to identify and develop new revenues streams throughout all channels and regions via:

•Systems Integrators; •Hosting Partners; •Collocation Partner; •Data Center Partner; •Generating Leads from AboveNet to our Strategic Partners; •Generating Internal Employee Referral Leads.

The Regional Marketing Specialist will be the expert for AboveNet products, with core technical competency in the following disciplines: Dark Fiber, Optical Access Products such as CWDM, DWDM and SONET, IP Services and Ethernet.

The Regional Marketing Specialist will leverage their core product competency (feature-function-price-benefits) against competitive products (feature-function-price-benefits) and customer applications to measurably contribute to the revenue growth of the Referral and Sales Channels. Perform ongoing analytical development of customer applications, competitive pricing, offerings and trends. Develop and deliver lead generation output with integrated business development and marketing approaches, report and follow up with measurable results.

Responsibilities:

The position’s primary objective requires demonstrated success achieving a high level of new revenue generation via Referral Partners with the Direct Sales Channel.

• Develop AboveNet Channel Awareness Internally and Externally; • Implement Initiatives Campaigns, Collateral, Internal and External Automation Tools; • Provide input in Developing Standard AboveNet Products and Services with the Business Development Team, Partners and Regional Sales Directors and NAMs; • Develop and apply to the Referral Partner and Direct Sales channels: • Market specific data, product and application data and how it translates into network offerings to solve customer application needs; • Develop and implement measurable lead generation programs that drive channel sales. • Translate technical product specifications into business requirements to develop and deliver sales communications materials for specific markets. • Product specific and channel specific documentation: • Case studies; • Referral Partner Presentations; • Market specific data sheets; • AboveNet white papers; • AboveNet applications solutions. • Analyze customer information to develop and implement referral partner programs to drive sales to effectively match products to customer needs, etc.: • AboveNet products under contract; • Term of contract; • Applications supported; • Growth trends - buying needs – 3 and 5 year plan. • Active advocate delivering referral partner based requirements into Product Development process. Be the principle contact for Business Development/Marketing to work with Product Development to feedback to PD customer information: • Coordinate development of product PowerPoint materials; • Coordinate development of product Data Sheets; • Coordinate development of product Price Book. • Provide Product Development with feedback on referral partner needs and trends: • Define, schedule, organize and execute focused customer events; • In concert with existing organizations (Tech Councils, etc.); • Announcement of new products, network expansion. • Additional Responsibilities: • Attend Partner meetings to gather first hand intelligence relating to applications, network needs and technical impact from a regional perspective; • Work with SE team to understand technical aspects of offerings and capture on-going market intelligence to package and position AboveNet products to drive revenue attainment; • Support partner training and product training activities – lunch and learns; • Support annual business planning and budget activities; • Become active voice with Partners in speaking engagements and publicity events to promote AboveNet; • Support AboveNet annual leadership meetings and partner meetings; • Track market success and metrics in conjunction with Business Development/Marketing and Sales Operations; • Analyze and report on Referral Partner-competitor specific data and formulate response-action plan to support revenue objectives; • The individual must comply with departmental and corporate internal controls and all internal controls processes; • The individual must possess and employ the highest ethical and business standards and always conduct himself/herself with the greatest degree of professional integrity; • Other duties and responsibilities as required.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree required; • Minimum of 5 years experience in the Wholesale, Carrier and ISP telecommunications market; • Requires Strong technical background; • Requires excellent communication skills including verbal and written; • Ability to work with all levels in the Company; • Candidate must be highly motivated, proactive, and a team player • Ability to work without local management supervision; • MS Office, strong presentation skills, and contact management software experience; • Travel at minimum of 25%
