Our client manufactures and markets tires for the transportation industry and various industrial and consumer markets, as well as rubber-related chemicals for various applications. They are one of the world’s largest tire companies. The company manufactures tires and chemicals in more than 90 facilities in 28 countries around the world and employs more than 70,000 people worldwide.

The Regional/General Manager will take a pro active approach to managing the retail operations of their assigned region. The GM will drive top-line revenue growth through incremental region district and store traffic, conversion and customer loyalty effects. Complete Profit & Loss responsibility for 135-250 Automotive Tire and Service stores. The GM will develop and execute the retail business strategy across brands, merchandise assortment, service categories, pricing and marketing. Responsible for recruiting, hiring, training and mentoring best-in-class district and field management teams. Partner with the Management Team to identify operational, growth, merchandising, real estate, marketing and Human Resources opportunities. Drive operational improvements through business process execution and a balanced score-card methodology. Responsible for creating and achieving an Annual Operating Plan to achieve profit, sales, units, car count and productivity and establish action plans when goals are not met.

Additional key responsibilities:

Operational Leadership - drive results through the guidance and leadership to the District Manager's to achieve or exceed AOP. Monitor and measure execution of key processes identified by Akron leadership team. Responsible for the day to day work flow of retail operations and region P&L. Develop and execute recovery and action plans. Identify and implement best practices across the region as well as sharing best practices within the leadership team.Communication - Translate, communicate and drive organizational and regional messages to ensure execution at store level. Act as a liaison between DMR's and Retail Management on areas such as Human Resources, Advertising, Marketing, Operations, Real Estate and Finance and market activities. Assesses market level competitive dynamics and communicates intelligence and recommendations back to business leadership. Monitor and communicate within region audit reports to identify trends, improve processes, administer corrective action and put controls in place.Brand - Manage and build the brands keeping true to the customer, demonstrate a strong understanding of brand image, brand management and a sensibility to retail/merchandising brand and product complexities. Influence the store concept to reflect current merchandising and marketing goals. Strategic Planning & Development - Work with Marketing to implement company promotions and product plans. Create a culture that provides exceptional customer service at all levels. Create an environment where Goodyear is the brand and employer of choice. Maintain an in-depth and complete knowledge of competitor activity within the region. Analyze intelligence data and provide recommendations for future action plans. Develop brand and name awareness. Overall accountability for compliance with Company policies and procedures as well as regulatory compliance.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Minimum 10 years managing a sales/operational team.Proven ability to develop annual operating plans with clearly defined objectives.Proven and consistent track record for meeting and exceeding operating targets.Ability to effectively use Microsoft Office suite of products and Lotus Notes.Travel 40-50%

EDUCATION:

Advanced degree preferred; Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university or ten years related experience and training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
