Description: Job Summary & Mission:

As the Regional Counsel for the Great Lakes Region you will be one of eight Regional Counsel nationwide. As the Regional Counsel for the Great Lakes you will be the primary legal advisor to the Regional Manager, the Regional Management Team, as well as the Regional Market Managers and their staff on all legal matters. Reporting to the Head of Legal Origination, Regional Counsel is expected to assume a leadership role on the Region's Risk Management Team.

Key Responsibilities:

- Primary legal advisor on all legal matters, including but not limited to briefing on industry and Firm legal developments and trens, strategy and settlement discussions concerning significant sales practices, regulatory and employment law matters, audit trends, coordination of legal initiatives, disciplinary matters and trends and advice on strategic initiatives.

- Involved in training branch management and other field personnel on significant legal and compliance risks

- Interface regularly with the Home Office, in addition to legal and compliance personnel.

- Travel throughtout the 5-state Great Lakes Region, as well as to the Home Office in Weehawken, New Jersey Qualifications: - You are a professional with 8+ years of experience as a securities attorney and are admitted to practice law in the state of Ohio.

- You are a professional with a securities litigation or regulatory background, working in a large firm, corporate law department, government agency, or self-regulatory organization

- To be considered for this senior legal position, you must be able to demonstrate significant experience in advising and counselling business partners or clients on a wide variety of legal and risk issues.

- Must have a highly developed and tested problem solving skills and sound judgment.

- Must be a team player with the ability to manage and organize projects and tasks, provide regular updates, and work independently under tight deadlines.

- Substantial travel is a requirement of this position.
