TITLE: REGIONAL ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Heritage Environmental Services, LLC (HES), headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana (www.heritage-enviro.com) is seeking a Field Staff Accountant.  This Field Staff Accountant will work closely with our East Region locations (Toledo, Charlotte, Albany & East Liverpool, OH) and well as the Corporate Accounting group.  This position has the primary responsibility to direct the financial business process activities of the region with the goal of providing and improving upon the accuracy and timeliness of information provided to company management.  This position will also be viewed to lead the region in training and mentoring all employees on the importance of perfecting business process fundamentals at the locational level.  This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to learn and grow in a company that has top-notch benefits. 

 

REPORTS TO:

Accounting/Region

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develops and implements accounting process improvements in the region to ensure financial statements are more accurate and timelyActs as a bridge between management and corporate accounting to facilitate the efficient transfer of financial information between the two groupsLeads the Month-end financial statement review process for the regionLeads and coordinates both the fiscal and capital budget process for the regionPerforms variance analysis of actual monthly performance vs. budget to identify areas of improvement for the regionOversees the billing process for the regionFurther develops and improves upon the purchase order process for the regionDevelops and monitors key performance metrics and various cost driver reportsOversight and metric tracking of collection activity impacting DSO and Days to InvoiceParticipates in the annual financial statement auditMaintains and ensures accurate fixed assets tracking and inventory for the regionCommunicates accounting concepts to non-financial employees

 

REQUIREMENTS:

-Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Business or Finance, CPA required

-Three to Six years of experience required

-Must have good communication and problem solving skills with a strong desire to learn  Also must be able to achieve results while managing multiple priorities and deadlines

-Travel required 25-50% of the time throughout the region and to corporate headq
