The Real Estate Portfolio and Performance Reporting Manager will provide a new dedicated function that is critical to Eagle Realty Group’s investment management business. This individual will have three areas of ongoing responsibility as detailed in the following section:
oPortfolio performance analysis and reporting
oInvestment management revenue administration
oOther product management functions
The primary responsibility of this associate is to lead the performance analysis and reporting function by facilitating the management, computation and delivery of complete and accurate performance data and other financial information to a variety of internal and external decision makers as well as clients. Generally, the associate is expected to draw on the resources and expertise of other areas of the organization to effectively deal with requests from relationship managers, asset managers and senior management within the investment management area.
Initially, this individual will play an important leadership role in defining roles, responsibilities, policies, processes and quality control measures related to the allocation and integration of activities within and between the financial accounting, asset management, JV real estate development and client relationship management areas. For example, a process will have to be defined, with clear responsibilities assigned associates across the financial management and asset management areas, to determine the policies, procedures and processes to properly assimilate the accounting and related financial data at the property, JV partnership and investment partnership levels to support the complete and accurate calculation of investment performance.
•Portfolio performance analysis and reporting
oAssist with the identification, selection and implementation of an appropriate portfolio and fund performance data collection and reporting software system
oMaintain the portfolio and fund performance reporting system
oDevelop GIPS/REIS (NCREIF) compliant performance data models to begin to assimilate a GIPS-compliant track record
oDevelop and maintain appropriate NCREIF-based performance benchmarks both standard and customized, as appropriate
oDevelop special analytical reports used by portfolio managers, client servicing / relationship management, business development and senior management, including performance reporting templates for the property, investment and investor levels
oDevelop reporting capabilities and procedures on a variety of performance metrics at the property, investment, composite portfolio and investor levels. Such metrics will include return on equity, period-to-period returns, return from income vs. return from appreciation, total return, unrealized gains, multiple-of-capital invested (cash on cash), leveraged and un-leveraged returns (at the property level only), returns before and after fee management and incentive (property and investment levels)
oReport performance monthly, quarterly, annually, since inception, and # of years
oComposite portfolios may include specific investors, strategies and asset classes
oWork with the Real Estate Investment Accountant in the review of and analysis of property-level and partnership financial reports and variances to ensure the accurate treatment of financial and accounting data in the calculation of investment performance
oWork with asset management to coordinate quarterly asset appraisals for the purpose of calculating period-to-period total returns
oWork with the Relationship Manager / Director of Client Relationship Management to assist with the preparation and production of quarterly client reports and packages
oSupport investment management and asset management in the pro forma analysis of acquisition and disposition considerations with respect to the overall impact to various portfolios as defined by investment management
oWork closely with business development to supply customized performance figures and investment / fund information for marketing and sales activities
•Investment management revenue administration
oReview investment memorandums to develop a complete understanding of the basis for investment management fees as well as the waterfall structure with respect to the calculation and distribution of incentive management fees
oWork with the Real Estate Investment Accountant to develop and maintain management and incentive fee models to meet fund and individual investor requirements
oCalculate and invoice quarterly investment management and incentive management fees
oResolve billing discrepancies related to the activities of the investment company
oIn close collaboration with the Relationship Manager / Director of Client Relationship Management, respond to all client inquiries regarding investment management and incentive fee billing and related investment management expenses as charged by the investment company
oWork with Financial Management and Relationship Management to ensure that investment management revenues are properly recorded for corporate accounting purposes
•Other product management responsibilities
oWork closely with the financial management area to define, create and implement more robust policies and procedures that provide a scalable, auditable data management strategy
oAssist with the identification, selection and implementation of new portfolio and performance reporting software
oLead efforts and cross-functional project teams that may also consist of associates from the Fort Washington and Shared Services business units to establish proper operating procedures related to the day-to-day management of Eagle’s investment management business
oLead audits and verify the results of such audits of both the systems, models and data involved in producing performance information
oAttend conferences to stay abreast of trends in industry performance reporting standards
oPerforms other duties as assigned by management
Position Requirements:Ideally, this individual will have experience with highly complex institutional real estate private equity transactions, working knowledge of institutional investment management terminology and performance reporting standards as well as advanced modeling experience. Given Eagle’s targeted client base of other institutional investment managers, this individual should be well aware of GIPS/REIS reporting standards. An individual with prior experience in the institutional real estate investment management business is required. Working with other professionals in the Financial Management area, this associate should be able to lead audits and verify the results of such audits of both the systems, models and data involved in producing performance information. This is a fast-paced and team-oriented environment, where priorities can change frequently and deadlines are often under significant time pressure. Maturity, a self-starter attitude, project and time management discipline, strong communication skills and an institutional-quality professional disposition are a priority.
•Must have at least 3-5 years of applicable experience in private real estate investment fund performance calculation and reporting management
•Knowledge of Real estate product structuring is a plus
•Demonstrated project management experience
•Ability to lead and manage resources in response to deadlines and objectives

•Ability to self-manage with significant ambiguity and little direct day-to-day supervision
•BA/BS required
•MBA or MS Finance preferred
•computer skills and knowledge of hardware & software required

•CFA preferred (or at least demonstrated application of CFA Institute GIPS methods)
