We are currently seeking a Real Estate and Construction Advisory (RECA) Associate to join us in our San Francisco office, focused on the Construction industry.
KPMG ForensicSM professionals assist organizations in their efforts to achieve the highest level of business integrity through the detection, prevention and investigation of fraud and misconduct. Our Forensic professionals strive to not only help our clients discover the facts underlying concerns about fraud and misconduct, but also assist clients in assessing their vulnerabilities to such activities, and in developing controls and programs to address these risks.
Responsibilities:
* Assist in performing construction contract audits and compliance reviews
* Evaluate and develop internal controls associated with the financial accounting, management and reporting of capital projects
* Assist with assessments of large-scale capital projects and programs
* Assist in the review, analysis and summary of construction claims and audits
* Conduct business process assessments and develop business processes for the successful execution and management of large capital projects
* Assist on non-construction related Forensic jobs, including fraud investigations and financial audit assist work, as needed
* Work closely, but independently, under the direction of Managers and Partners
* Carry out day-to-day engagement field work, including interviews, data collection, analysis and work paper documentation
* Take part in business development and operational activities for the RECA practice
Qualifications:
* One year of experience in one or more of the following: construction management, construction development, contract compensation, program management, or construction contracts administration and/or procurement
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management from an accredited college/university
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access
* Strong documentation, records retention and work paper organizational skills
* Able to produce solid, professional work with good attention to detail, accuracy and presentation
* Willing and able to travel
* Able to work independently, take initiative, demonstrate a willingness to learn and have a positive attitude
