Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), leading systems, solutions and technical services company has an opening for a Real Estate Attorney/Negotiator.

Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) owns and leases over 10 million square feet of facilities worldwide. We are seeking a business-minded real estate leasing negotiator who is also an attorney to join our Corporate Real Estate group in McLean, VA. The Real Estate Attorney/Negotiator will handle a high volume of transaction negotiations and commercial lease documentation for a portfolio of up to two million square feet. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast moving, dynamic organization and have a proven track record working within the unique environment of a large corporate organization. The position requires the ability to collaborate and build consensus between multiple parties as well as strong customer service skills in order to successfully communicate and manage customer expectations.

The ideal candidate has a strong customer service background, superior legal drafting skills and significant negotiation experience, preferably in the real estate leasing arena.

Our ideal candidate will have gained strong negotiation skills via direct business experience, and legal skills in a transactional law firm, corporate facilities or corporate legal environment. Additionally, analytical skills sufficient to perform complex tasks requiring accuracy, detail and timeliness are needed. Candidate will need to have the ability to effectively communicate and vigorously negotiate concepts, positions and arguments, both orally and in writing as well as have the aptitude to diplomatically interrelate with company clients; and capacity to meet challenging deadlines and shifting priorities. Strong MS Office Suite, including Outlook is required. Experience with land transactions, land development and corporate merger and acquisition activity is a plus.

A minimum of 4 years of related commercial real estate legal experience, with an emphasis in commercial lease review and negotiation is required.


Some travel will be required.

Required Experience and Education:
The position requires a Bachelor's degree, a Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school, and membership in good standing in the Virginia, Maryland or DC Bar Association.
